- ID - LABELER files are compressed into a self-extracting file called
- LABELS.EXE and must be installed on a hard drive. To do this, we
- recommend the use of the included INSTALL.EXE program which will
- create a subdirectory called IDPLABEL on the chosen hard drive and
- install all required files to it. Simply place the program disk in
- any floppy drive, log to the drive (enter A:, or B:), and then enter
- INSTALL. The installation program will ask you which hard drive to
- install to (C, D, E, or F) and then install the program for you.
-
- A batch file called LABELER.BAT will be copied to the root directory of
- the selected hard drive, so you do not need to change to the IDPLABEL
- directory to start the program - just enter LABELER. If you are using a
- menu system, the LABELER files will be installed in the subdirectory called
- IDPLABEL and LABELER is the executable file name.
-
- If you manually install LABELER, insure that you make a subdirectory
- named IDPLABEL and then make a ssub-subdirectory off of IDPLABEL named
- NOTES. The NOTES directory is where LABELER stores the up to 64K of
- comments that you can attach to each Entry Record (name and address).
- If you were installing LABELER on drive C, for example, you would make
- entries such as: (Your entries are in ALL CAPITALS)
-
- c:MD\IDPLABEL
- c:MD\IDPLABEL\NOTES
- c:COPY A:LABELS.EXE C:\IDPLABEL
- c:COPY A:LABELER.BAT C:\
- c:CD\IDPLABEL
- c:idplabel LABELS
- c:idplabel DEL LABELS.EXE
- c:idplabel CD\
- c:LABELER
-
- This sequence will make the required directories, copy the self-extracting
- file LABELS.EXE from your floppy disk to drive C:, copy the LABELER.BAT file
- from your floppy disk to the drive C: root directory (so you can start the
- program without having to change to the directory first, extract the files
- stored in LABELS.EXE, delete LABELS.EXE, return to the root directory of
- drive C:, and then, finally, start LABELER.
